Key Responsibilities

  • •Support day-to-day patent prosecution and invention harvesting, including patent intake, evaluating patentability, and preparing or reviewing disclosures.
  • •Help manage global IP portfolios (patents, copyrights, trademarks), including monitoring/clearance and tracking filing, prosecution, and renewal deadlines.
  • •Assist IP enforcement efforts such as domain disputes, social media takedowns, and coordination with vendors and outside counsel for pre-litigation disputes.
  • •Coordinate product regulatory governance and product launch readiness across Legal Privacy, Commercial, Information Security, and IT, and maintain related internal guidelines.
  • •Support open-source licensing/compliance, including advising engineering and product teams on IP rights, AI model licensing, dependencies, and data collection/usage risks.

Key Requirements

  • •2–5+ years of experience in patent prosecution and/or litigation and intellectual property or product law, preferably with exposure to the software industry.
  • •Admission to the US or Canadian Patent Bar (registration number required).
  • •A JD from a US law school or LLB from a Canadian law school preferred; patent agents are eligible.
  • •Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing, or managing patent applications and translating technical concepts into patent claims.
  • •Interest in Generative AI and the legal frameworks governing code and data, with strong written and oral communication skills.
