Job Summary

Lead detailed electrical cost estimates for large-scale, mission-critical data center programs, covering power distribution, backup generation, UPS, generators, switchgear, and related critical systems. Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and BIM models, validate labor/material/equipment pricing, maintain cost benchmarks, and review subcontractor bids for risks and commercial exposure. Support design optioneering, value engineering, and change management while ensuring estimates align with codes, safety, sustainability, and energy efficiency requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead preparation of detailed electrical cost estimates for hyperscale data center projects, including medium/low-voltage distribution, substations, UPS, generators, switchgear, busway, grounding, and lighting.
•Perform and oversee electrical quantity takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and BIM models for items such as conduit, cabling, transformers, and generators.
•Develop, validate, and challenge labor, material, and equipment pricing models aligned to project budgets and market conditions.
•Establish and maintain historical cost data, benchmarks, and estimating standards to support large-scale programs and forecasting.
•Review and analyze contractor/subcontractor bids to identify scope gaps, cost risks, and commercial exposure; support value engineering/design optioneering as needed.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
•7+ years of experience in electrical estimating, with strong preference for data center, mission-critical, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
•Advanced technical knowledge of power distribution systems, backup generation, UPS systems, electrical codes, and labor productivity.
•Demonstrated experience estimating high-density and hyperscale electrical systems.
•Proficiency in estimating/takeoff tools such as Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, Bluebeam (or similar) and strong familiarity interpreting BIM-based information.
