Job Summary

Lead day-to-day technical delivery of highway consultancy services from feasibility through to construction for local and national transport projects in the Truro region. Manage multi-disciplinary inputs, liaise with clients, act as technical lead/reviewer, and guide teams to deliver design outputs (roads, drainage, and associated disciplines) while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead day-to-day technical delivery of highway consultancy services across project stages from feasibility to construction.
•Manage coordination of multi-disciplinary inputs and ensure alignment with project scope, budget, and schedule.
•Liaise with clients to develop strong relationships, manage expectations, and provide informed guidance.
•Take on project technical lead and reviewer roles and support team members to maximise contribution.
•Prepare fee proposals and manage budgets for individual projects, delivering discrete and overall project solutions.

Key Requirements

•Knowledge and experience of highway design and/or drainage systems across project life cycles; specific experience in road geometry, roundabouts, junctions, inclusive active travel, highway drainage, road restraint systems, traffic signs and road marking design is advantageous.
•Experience leading one or multiple design disciplines on projects (road, public transport, active travel, public/private development).
•Proficiency in design outputs using software such as Autodesk Civils 3D, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, InfoDrainage, and PDS.
•Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to manage client relationships and advise on project delivery.
•Chartered Civil Engineer or Incorporated Engineer with substantial post-qualification experience, or actively working toward this.
