Job Summary

Join Rocket Motor Systems to execute production rocket motor contracts as a program propellant chemist and serve as principal investigator on internal R&D. You’ll provide technical guidance on explosives chemistry and manufacturing, maintain databases and analyze technical data to support specification and regulatory compliance, and help implement innovative techniques and technologies for solid rocket motor propellants.

•Execute production rocket motor contracts as the program propellant chemist.
•Act as the principal investigator on internal research and development efforts.
•Provide technical guidance on explosives chemistry and manufacturing.

•Support implementation of innovative techniques and technologies.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 128,000 - 171,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field plus two years of experience; or a master’s degree plus four years; or a bachelor’s degree plus six years.
•Minimum two years of relevant aerospace/defense experience, preferably in solid rocket motor production.
•Demonstrated expertise in rocket motor manufacture (e.g., composite propellants, energetic materials, case/nozzle/insulation design, or solid rocket motor manufacturing).
•Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
•Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
