Job Summary

Develop and maintain embedded firmware for the dexterous hands of humanoid robots, collaborating with the existing hands firmware team. Work across motor control, sensor integration, and real-time communications, and help bring up hand hardware from prototype to production. Contribute to HIL/SIL testing strategy, firmware quality and reliability for fleets of hands in the field, and debugging/verification through code and design reviews with senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

•Collaborate with the hands firmware team to develop, deploy, and maintain firmware for dexterous hand designs, including motor control, sensor I/O, and real-time communications.
•Work with mechanical engineers to ensure firmware tracks the mechanical design and exposes interfaces for tuning and validation.
•Develop motor control firmware for small hand motors, including current control and basic position/torque loops.
•Build and validate firmware testing strategy using Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) for performance, safety, and reliability.
•Support hand hardware bring-up and improve firmware field performance for fleets via telemetry, diagnostics, and root-cause analysis, while participating in code/design reviews and pair debugging.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
•0–2 years of experience developing embedded software; recent graduates encouraged.
•Solid working proficiency in C/C++; familiarity with Python, Docker, and Git.
•Experience with real-time embedded firmware on resource-constrained hardware and comfort building hard real-time skills.
•Familiarity with motor control for BLDC motors and embedded communication protocols (e.g., SPI, UART, RS485, CAN).
