Job Summary

Lead the design of large “hour-to-hour” game features as a Product Owner, prototyping and iterating based on player needs, product goals, and competitive research. Partner across design and disciplines to steer execution of your feature vision, translate the overall direction into actionable designs, and collaborate with QA to validate the player experience. Analyze software progress by maintaining and prioritizing the backlog while mentoring junior designers.

Key Responsibilities

•Own large features of the “hour-to-hour” play and drive product design outcomes.
•Prototype, iterate, and validate the vision using deep understanding of target players, product goals, and competitive landscape.
•Lead the vision and craft design for a game area while collaborating with Engineers, Animators, Artists, and Producers.
•Translate direction into feature designs with the Design Director and work with QA to drive testing of the game experience.
•Analyze game quality and progress, groom and prioritize the backlog, and mentor junior designers.

Key Requirements

•5+ years experience as a Senior Systems Designer in the AAA gaming space.
•Passion for sports and sports video games.
•Experience mentoring other designers.
•Ability to take on “Game Area Owner” responsibilities and act as a front-to-back development partner.
•Knowledge of player-driven/emergent narrative and systemic design.
