Job Summary

Coach teachers at Volunteer State Virtual Academy by researching and sharing math literacy instructional strategies, facilitating pilots of materials and software implementations, and supporting effective assessment practices. •Researches and provides content knowledge, resources, and guidance on effective and innovative math practices to support teachers.

•Monitors student progress using K12 interactive lessons and daily assessments; collects and reviews work samples.
•Coordinates and facilitates reading intervention initiatives for students in grades K–5, alerts administrators to concerns, and maintains confidentiality.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Education (or related field) AND five (5) years teaching experience.
•Two (2) years of successful coaching/mentoring experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Tennessee High School English Teaching Certification.
•Pedagogical knowledge of math content and ability to apply critical thinking.
•Knowledge of state content standards and ability to align them with the K12 curriculum.
