Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the end-to-end data ingestion and management flow for Glean’s products, including building and scaling connectors to various SaaS/on-prem systems and managing full syncs with low-latency incremental updates.
  • •Transform raw, unstructured enterprise content into structured, permission-aware representations optimized for search and LLM reasoning, and design schemas and enrichment pipelines.
  • •Ensure reliability and correctness for petabyte-scale data, addressing ordering, idempotency, exactly-once processing, backpressure, and retries across distributed components.
  • •Preserve fine-grained ACLs and sensitivity constraints to keep AI answers grounded in what users can see, and collaborate with Security to uphold data safety.
  • •Partner with Search, Product, Platforms, and Security teams to improve observability, alerting, and onboarding of more data sources.

Key Requirements

  • •3+ years building production backend or data infrastructure systems (Java, Go, C++, Python, etc.).
  • •Hands-on experience with distributed systems, data pipelines, queues, and large-scale storage (SQL/NoSQL).
  • •You think in SLOs, error budgets, failure modes, and correctness guarantees — not just features.
  • •Comfortable with strict consistency and permission-modeling challenges.
  • •Prior work on enterprise connectors, search/indexing, information retrieval, or security-sensitive systems is a strong plus.
