Substation Electrician 1st Yr.

Perform apprentice-level substation maintenance and construction work, including replacing oil circuit reclosers and overhauling oil, gas, and vacuum circuit breakers. Troubleshoot AC/DC control circuits and voltage regulator issues, test and maintain AC battery chargers and DC battery systems, and repair or replace substation apparatus. Respond to emergent substation problems, complete basic transformer testing after fault events, and handle emergency callouts and one-man truck duties during vacation coverage.
