Job Summary

Support network operations for an NIH-CIT proposal from Bethesda, MD, in a remote/hybrid setup. You’ll work with service delivery, architecture, and security teams; mentor network operations engineers; and act as shift queue manager to expedite escalations and meet SLAs. Monitor and troubleshoot network infrastructure using Grafana, Cisco StealthWatch, and PerfSonar, maintain NIHNet DWDM circuits, and help design SDN “zero-touch” deployments, including wireless LAN improvements.

Key Responsibilities

•Support the Operations Section Manager with personnel administration, strategic planning, and staff planning while partnering with service delivery, architecture, and security teams.
•Mentor network operations engineers and apply agile IT, ITIL, and continuous improvement practices.
•Serve as shift queue manager to ensure escalated issues are assigned and actively worked to meet SLAs.
•Monitor and analyze network infrastructure using Grafana for log aggregation, Cisco StealthWatch, and PerfSonar; provide maintenance, patching, and troubleshooting support for NIHNet DWDM circuits.
•Coordinate with network architecture and facilities teams to identify SDN “zero-touch” solutions and improve performance and security for SCADA and wireless LAN services.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 85,000 - 99,403 annually

Key Requirements

•High School with CCIE (Routing and Switching) certification and 5 years of equivalent data center operational experience, or CCNP (Routing and Switching/Data Center) with 10 years of equivalent data center operational experience.
•Experience mentoring network operations engineers using current/emergent technologies, agile IT, ITIL, and continuous improvement practices.
•Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
•Ability to support shift lead duties as a queue manager to ensure escalated issues are efficiently assigned and resolved to meet SLAs.
