Key Responsibilities

  • •Set multi-year transportation and equipment strategy aligned to division growth, including rail and barge optimization to unlock permitted quarry capacity.
  • •Design and run a formal S&OP process connecting demand forecasting, production planning, transportation capacity, and financial targets.
  • •Own interfacility transportation and last-mile delivery operations, balancing modal selection, freight costs, asset utilization, and carrier performance.
  • •Lead strategic category management and procurement operations by separating procure-to-pay execution from vendor strategy, including total cost of ownership visibility and supplier consolidation.
  • •Build and develop the supply chain and procurement team, drive safety standards, and adopt tools/processes such as ERP readiness, transportation management systems, and analytics to support KPIs.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years progressive leadership in supply chain, logistics, procurement, or operations in heavy industrial or construction materials.
  • •Proven experience building or leading strategic sourcing/category management, including vendor negotiation, supplier consolidation, and total-cost-of-ownership decisions.
  • •Deep expertise in rail logistics, including managing Class I railroad relationships and optimizing rail network performance.
  • •Experience managing a mixed transportation network with internal/private fleet and third-party carriers, balancing service, cost, and capacity for last-mile delivery.
  • •Ability to build supply chain/procurement capabilities in complex multi-site environments and translate performance into measurable financial outcomes.
