Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and design for planning, feasibility studies of energy storage systems including associated grid connections and metering.
  • •Design energy storage projects for renewable generation or private wire, including BESS collocated with renewables.
  • •Collaborate with internal AECOM clients to deliver large renewable generation or private wire projects.
  • •Provide support and exposure to bidding, project and quality management.
  • •Lead a team of engineers and contribute to project delivery across multiple projects.

Key Requirements

  • •Previous experience in consultancy, contractor, equipment manufacturer or electrical utility in the energy sector. Suitable experience as FEED designer, detailed design or owner’s engineer role.
  • •A good understanding of both renewable generation and energy storage technology in general and, in particular, battery storage technology of all types and chemistries.
  • •Experience designing the HV grid connection, metering, control requirements etc. associated with battery storage installations, including BESS collocated with renewable energy generation.
  • •Knowledge of grid connection requirements for renewable generation and energy storage, including G59, G99 etc.
  • •Good understanding of electrical plant items and control systems such as transformers, cables, circuit breakers, HV Protection & Control.
