Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide personal financial counseling and management services to service members and their families at military installations.
  • •Deliver the full breadth of counseling services, including one-on-one counseling, consultation with commanders/providers, briefings/presentations, and referral resources.
  • •Work with installation and military branch POCs to ensure the program is within scope and meets installation needs.
  • •Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences and develop/provide informational financial materials.
  • •Coordinate, publicize, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops and respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars, including via virtual counseling when authorized.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required; may consider associate degree plus 4 years’ experience, or high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English; if required by the contract, must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • •Be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation and pass the OCI process.
  • •Must hold an eligible certification: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
