Job Summary

Lead and manage end-to-end internal audit engagements for Non-Financial Risk (NFR) and Capital Markets within the CRO & Capital Markets Audit Services Team. You will own audit projects, mentor junior staff, and drive process improvements while partnering with stakeholders globally (Ireland, London, Chicago, Manila). Focus areas include operational risk, compliance, and use of data analytics to enhance efficiency and audit coverage across Northern Trust.

Key Responsibilities

•Leads audit projects, owning objectives and timelines while adhering to department policies and standards
•Maintains strong knowledge of business risks, controls, laws, and regulatory requirements relevant to areas under review
•Designs and executes testing approaches; ensures work papers clearly support conclusions
•Identifies efficiency opportunities through data analytics and collaborates with global team members
•Communicates audit status proactively with stakeholders and management, and supports the preparation of memos and reports

Key Requirements

•Proven assurance experience in internal audit, external audit, monitoring, or testing within a financial institution or consulting environment.
•Experience in capital markets auditing is an advantage but not mandatory
•Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, PRM, CPA, CISA, CIA, ACA, ACCA) are preferable but not mandatory
•Ability to work independently, lead audit projects end-to-end, and engage with senior stakeholders in a team environment
•Experience with audit workpaper applications such as Teammate is advantageous
