Key Responsibilities

  • •Coordinate/create switching for testing outages of distribution lines and equipment, and operate/dispatch electric and gas outage and trouble notifications under directive supervision.
  • •Issue switching orders for de-energizing, grounding, tagging, and re-energizing distribution facilities.
  • •Ensure rigid observance of Electric Switching and Tagging Procedures and standard procedures for gas operations.
  • •Perform analyses of distribution circuits for real-time and contingency conditions and conduct initial analysis of outage/trouble to minimize interruptions.
  • •Oversee distribution switching operations in a lead role when assigned, operate/monitor supervisory controlled electric distribution devices, and dispatch crews via the Outage Management System while updating records and system diagrams.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 51.2 - 57.54 hourly

Key Requirements

  • •BA in Electrical Engineering or AAS in Electrical Engineering Technology, or a passing score on a test designed or approved by the company.
  • •Successful completion of the company-administered aptitude test.
  • •Ability to absorb company training in Distribution Operating work, measured by job knowledge tests covering operations and safety rules.
  • •Must pass a pre-employment drug test and be enrolled in the random drug testing program.
  • •Must have normal health/physique and pass the required physical examination, including color perception.
