Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead contracted T&D construction activities for substation, transmission, and/or distribution projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, with highest quality, on time, and within budget.
  • •Create project implementation plans, prepare bid documents, conduct site visits, evaluate bid proposals, and support contractor construction plans including safety, crane lifts, and shoring plans.
  • •Coordinate multidiscipline construction activities with T&D management, engineering personnel/consultants, and substation/line operations to minimize risk to T&D system operations and outage windows.
  • •Manage contract administration as PGE representative: screen bidders, monitor contractor work and workmanship, ensure permit compliance, negotiate changes, prepare change orders, and review/approve invoices and payments.
  • •Oversee safety practices: establish effective communication among participants, ensure safe working practices aligned with safety culture/programs and laws, and provide safety training to contractors as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or other related field (or equivalent experience).
  • •P3: typically 5+ years of experience in construction management, project management, engineering, or a related field; P4: typically 8+ years.
  • •Strong construction project management experience, including substation and/or transmission & distribution construction (greenfield and brownfield).
  • •Knowledge of construction standards/specifications and construction law/contract negotiation, plus experience with contract management and inspections.
  • •Construction safety program experience, including coordinating safe working practices and providing safety training to contractors when needed.
