Key Responsibilities

  • •Contribute to aerodynamic layout and analysis for fixed-wing, multicopter, and eVTOL configurations using low- and high-fidelity methods (XFoil, OpenVSP, AVL, CFD).
  • •Support flight test and/or wind tunnel campaigns by defining test cards, instrument prototypes, and running experiments to validate simulations.
  • •Write Python tooling to automate analysis workflows, process test/flight data, and connect design and simulation into an end-to-end pipeline.
  • •Generate and maintain aerodynamic databases and stability derivatives used by the GNC team for control law development and autopilot tuning.
  • •Collaborate with Mechanical and GNC teams to keep aerodynamic choices feasible, stable, and testable in practice.

Key Requirements

  • •B.S. or M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or related field with aerodynamics/flight mechanics coursework or project experience.
  • •Strong understanding of aerodynamic fundamentals (lift, drag, stability) and flight dynamics to reason about behavior before simulation/testing.
  • •Proficiency in Python scripting, including NumPy, SciPy, and Pandas, for data processing and automation.
  • •Hands-on experience with either aerodynamic simulation (CFD, XFoil, OpenVSP, AVL) or physical testing (wind tunnel, flight test, prototyping).
  • •Comfort with SolidWorks or CATIA for navigating and making basic geometry edits.
