Job Summary

Build large-scale e-commerce recommendation algorithms and systems for TikTok Shop, including commodity, live stream, and short video recommendations. Develop long- and short-term user interest models and predictive ranking models (e.g., CTR and conversion rate). Create and optimize real-time data pipelines, features, and ML model iteration, then run experiments to evaluate deployed models and troubleshoot issues. Partner with teams deploying models on production platforms.

Key Responsibilities

•Participate in building large-scale (10M to 100M) e-commerce recommendation algorithms and systems for commodity, live stream, and short video recommendations.
•Build long- and short-term user interest models to extract relevant signals from large, varied datasets and explore users’ latent interests.
•Design, develop, evaluate, and iterate on predictive models for candidate generation and ranking, including real-time data pipelines, feature engineering, model optimization, and innovation.
•Design and build supporting/debugging tools as needed to support model development and deployment.
•Run experiments to test deployed model performance, identify issues, and resolve bugs; support scalable production ML models.

Key Requirements

•Final year or recent graduate with a background in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
•Strong programming and problem-solving ability.
•Experience in applied machine learning and familiarity with recommendation algorithms (e.g., collaborative filtering, matrix factorization, factorization machines, Word2vec, logistic regression, gradient boosting trees, deep neural networks, wide and deep).
•Experience with deep learning tools such as TensorFlow and/or PyTorch.
•Experience with at least one programming language such as C++ or Python (or equivalent).
