Job Summary

Join Black Box Network Services as a Network Technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain network hardware in a 24/7 environment. You’ll rack and stack devices, patch cables, test physical layers, install Cisco/Avaya IP phones, and support MAC changes while collaborating with facilities and MAC teams to ensure uptime for customer networks.

Job Function: Field Service, Maintenance & Skilled Trades

Key Responsibilities

•Patch cabling between network equipment and the customer’s network.
•Install power cables from equipment to power supply in rack/cabinet/closet.
•Install, troubleshoot, and de-install network equipment (devices, edge routers, switches, etc.).
•Perform MAC requests within service levels and act as liaison between customer and management.
•Provide hardware break-fix services for network infrastructure and conduct onsite testing across data, voice, website, and security.

Key Requirements

•Must have at least 5 years of experience in data communications.
•Proficient with Sniffers, BERT testers, cable testers, and fiber testers.
•Experience working in communications closets and performing rack-and-stack activities.
•Familiar with patching processes and 66/110 block cross-connect procedures; basic networking knowledge.
•Must be able to program Cisco and Avaya IP phones; able to troubleshoot and deodorize phone issues.
