Job Summary

Build, maintain, and scale Zalando’s ERP applications within SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP landscapes. You’ll translate business requirements into reliable code, developing and deploying features using ABAP, ABAP Cloud (RAP), and SAP CAP with Node.js. Own service maintenance and operational excellence, including monitoring, testing, and root-cause analysis for production incidents. Collaborate with product managers and engineers to refine requirements and continuously improve documentation and developer experience.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop, test, and deploy features autonomously across SAP S/4HANA and BTP modules using ABAP Cloud (RAP) and SAP CAP (Node.js).
•Ensure high-quality, maintainable code through code reviews, automated unit testing, and acceptance test creation.
•Maintain and operate the services your team is responsible for, monitoring metrics/logs and participating in root-cause analysis for production incidents.
•Collaborate with product managers and engineers to refine requirements, break down epics into tasks, and resolve conflicts between requirements and technical implementation.
•Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing knowledge, supporting internal communities, and improving documentation and developer experience through automation.

Key Requirements

•4+ years of professional experience developing SAP applications.
•Strong hands-on ABAP development experience, including OO ABAP and RAP.
•Essential familiarity with SAPUI5/Fiori Elements.
•Solid understanding of SAP BTP services and cloud-native development practices (e.g., Destination Service, XSUAA, Cloud Logging).
•Knowledge of SAP “clean core” development principles and proven problem-solving ability to investigate system interactions and propose scalable solutions.
