Job Summary

Perform and assist with special and standard chemical analyses and experiments on oil, water, coal, and other materials to support appropriate chemical treatment of water. Operate and troubleshoot water production equipment (clarifiers, filters, ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, and demineralizers) and maintain online analytical instrumentation for feedwater and boiler water analysis. Investigate abnormal feedwater and boiler water chemistry while completing required training and assessments.

•Determine the need for appropriate chemical treatment of waters.

Salary: USD 53.01 - 53.76 hourly

Key Requirements

•B.S. or B.A. degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
•Complete the prerequisite chemistry coursework (College Algebra; General Chem I & II with Qualitative Analysis; Organic Chemistry; Quantitative Analysis; Instrumental Analysis).
•Previous experience in water treatment and power plant chemistry is preferred (candidates without this experience will be considered).
•Proficiency with PC-based spreadsheets, graphics, word processing, and database software is desirable.
•Ability to join Operating Engineers Local 148 and complete the company training program (including maintaining a 70% grade average) and pass the EEI TECH test.
