Key Responsibilities

  • •Own and manage a caseload of employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, capability processes, absence management, and settlement agreements, from scoping to resolution.
  • •Lead formal investigations by planning scope, conducting interviews, gathering evidence, and producing clear investigation reports.
  • •Chair or support formal hearings (disciplinary, grievance, capability, and appeal) and prepare outcome documentation.
  • •Apply the ACAS Code of Practice and current UK employment law consistently to ensure cases reflect company policies and standards.
  • •Provide practical guidance to line managers and HR Business Partners, spot casework patterns, and identify opportunities to streamline and automate ER administration.

Key Requirements

  • •Significant experience managing employee relations caseloads end-to-end in a UK employment context, including disciplinaries, grievances, capability, absence, and investigations.
  • •Deep working knowledge of the ACAS Code of Practice and UK employment law, with confidence applying them in practice.
  • •Experience managing cases involving trade union representatives or shop stewards.
  • •A track record of producing high-quality employee relations documentation, including investigation reports and outcome letters.
  • •Strong organisational skills and excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to engage empathetically at all levels.
