Key Responsibilities

  • •Safely transport bulk scrap commodities and materials to and from barges, railcars, trucks, storage facilities, and related locations.
  • •Operate construction trucks (up to approximately 100 ton) and comply with safe vehicle operating policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • •Perform routine pre-operation inspections and note issues requiring maintenance.
  • •Perform approved maintenance as needed and complete fueling and lubrication of the vehicle.
  • •Follow proper loading, travel, dumping, startup/shutdown, and lockout procedures; keep the vehicle clean and in working order at shift end; respond to service and support requests.

Key Requirements

  • •High school graduation certificate or equivalent (desired but not required).
  • •Previous experience operating heavy equipment (a plus).
  • •Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving.
  • •Must be able to operate and maintain equipment safely at all times.
  • •Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and work all shifts and weekends in all weather conditions; job does not require a CDL.
