Job Summary

Create high-quality gameplay, AI, and scripted animations that match the visual style of the game, using keyframe and augmented motion capture. Implement and optimize your work in Unreal Engine, partnering with programmers, designers, and senior animators to support features and gameplay/AI systems. Participate in gameplay reviews, provide and receive feedback, troubleshoot animation issues, and help refine the animation pipeline. Mentor junior animators and share documented research and references.

Key Responsibilities

•Create gameplay, AI, and scripted animations matching the game’s visual style using keyframe and augmented mocap.
•Work with programmers and designers to support features and integrate animations into the game.
•Collaborate with senior animators and participate in gameplay reviews, giving and receiving constructive feedback.
•Debug, problem-solve, and optimize animations to ensure smooth gameplay experiences and align with the animation director’s vision.
•Mentor and train more junior animators, and document research/reference findings to help the team.

Key Requirements

•Previous experience as a Senior Animator on a AAA title.
•Exemplary keyframe and stylized 3D animation skills using Maya and/or Motion Builder.
•Experience working in Unreal Engine for animation implementation and debugging.
•Strong understanding of character performance (form, gesture, silhouettes) for player characters and AI.
•Experience with motion capture data and editing it, plus hand-key facial animation and tools such as Jali.
