Job Summary

Provide legal counsel for International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB) business lines, advising HBAP PH IWPB, HIIB, and HSBC Electronic Data Processing (HDPP). Serve as a trusted subject matter expert across consumer protection, data privacy, e-commerce, and digital/cross-border marketing, while managing litigation, legal risk management controls, and regulatory interlocks. Support global and regional legal functions and advise senior management on material legal and regulatory developments.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide specialist legal counsel and practical, cost-effective advice to IWPB business lines, associated global functions, and operating entities.
•Advise as a subject matter expert on consumer protection, data privacy, e-commerce, and digital and cross-border marketing to protect the firm’s reputation.
•Manage litigation matters and oversee external panel firm performance related to those matters.
•Support global and regional legal teams by managing legal and regulatory compliance issues and evaluating changes in legal/regulatory requirements.
•Communicate legal risks and impacts of global initiatives or complex transactions to business areas, manage remedial action, and advise senior management and regulators as required.

Key Requirements

•Over five (5) years of experience in legal advisory, and membership in good standing of the Philippine Bar.
•Recognized subject matter expertise on banking, finance, securities, and financial crime risk laws and regulations.
•Specialized experience across retail banking and wealth products, consumer credit and consumer protection.
•Knowledge and experience in data privacy, anti-money laundering, bank secrecy, and technology and licensing.
•Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with analytical ability to resolve issues effectively.
