Job Summary

Provide visible leadership to maintenance teams for safe, reliable, and efficient performance of critical assets at a modern aluminium smelter. Drive safety, reliability, operational performance, cost management, and continuous improvement while coaching supervisors and tradespeople. Manage departmental budgets and operating plans, lead incident investigations with corrective actions, partner with Operations and HSE, and support major shutdowns and emergency events through an on-call program.

•Lead a maintenance team of supervisors, skilled tradespeople, and technicians while fostering a safety culture using visible leadership, human performance principles, and critical risk management.
•Improve equipment availability, reliability, productivity, and overall asset performance through maintenance execution excellence.
•Drive continuous improvement and innovation by ensuring best-practice maintenance processes and identifying opportunities to optimize performance and costs.
•Lead safety and incident investigations, ensuring effective corrective actions are identified and implemented to prevent recurrence.
•Develop and manage departmental budgets and operating plans; partner with Operations, HSE, and other stakeholders, and provide leadership support during major shutdowns, breakdowns, and emergency events via an on-call program.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 131,360 - 197,040 annually

Key Requirements

•A commitment to safety for yourself and your team.
•A bachelor’s degree, trade qualification, or technical diploma in a related field, plus a valid driver’s licence equivalent to a minimum Class 7 BC driver’s licence.
•Demonstrated leadership experience in mining, manufacturing, maintenance, or another complex operational environment, with a visible approach to coaching, mentoring, and developing teams.
•Proven experience leading maintenance teams and driving accountability, culture change, continuous improvement, and change management; Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma (or similar) is an asset.
•Ability to analyze data and make informed operational and strategic decisions, with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
