Job Summary

Oversee and supervise all aspects of the equipment division for an assigned area, ensuring equipment needs are met across job sites, plants, and crushers. Manage equipment cost control, purchasing, preventive maintenance, and outside repairs, while maximizing equipment and mechanic utilization and monitoring unbilled hours. Enforce safety rules and compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and DOT requirements, including safety meetings and inspections. Lead hiring and performance activities for direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

•Oversee/supervise all facets of the equipment division in the assigned area, maintaining communication with operational managers to meet equipment needs.
•Ensure equipment repairs and preventive maintenance are completed effectively, efficiently, and on time, including managing outside repairs for accurate work and billing.
•Maintain cost control for rolling stock equipment by overseeing and authorizing purchases of parts, supplies, outside repairs, and shop tools.
•Enforce and manage safety rules, policies, and procedures; conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks; promote TRACK Form use and monitor safe driving through Motive for direct reports.
•Be visible in the field to inspect equipment regularly, schedule repairs prior to failure, and monitor equipment utilization and unbilled equipment hours; complete required shop paperwork and assist with equipment budgets.

Key Requirements

•Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college/technical school, or 2–4 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination.
•Previous supervisory experience.
•Ability to read and interpret safety rules, contracts, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondences; communicate effectively with customers and employees.
•Strong people skills with a proven track record of successful job and team management, including ability to cultivate customer/employee relationships and manage multiple jobs simultaneously.
•Strong communication (written and verbal) and computer skills, including use of Outlook, MS Office, construction software, and web-based programs.
