Job Summary

Lead packaging R&D projects across the MCCS (Meats, Cheese, Coffee, Snacking) platform, from concept through qualification and commercialization. Drive technical packaging work plans by identifying risks, scoping work, designing and executing packaging tests in lab and production environments, analyzing data, and translating results into recommendations. Partner with Product R&D, Operations, Quality, Procurement, and Consumer Insights to inform decisions and maintain technical documentation and specifications. Manage a packaging productivity pipeline delivering cost, sustainability, and value initiatives.

•Serve as packaging lead across multiple projects spanning business product categories.
•Identify technical risks, define work plans, and drive packaging activities from concept through qualification and commercialization.
•Design, execute, and interpret packaging tests in laboratory and production environments, translating findings into recommendations and next steps.
•Create, update, and maintain detailed technical documentation and packaging specifications; collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Product R&D, Operations, Quality, Procurement, and CIS.

•Bachelor’s + 5 years relevant experience, or Master’s + 4 years, or PhD + 3 years.
•Strong understanding of packaging materials, equipment, material interaction, and packaging test methods.
•Strong understanding of modified atmosphere and thermoforming.
•Demonstrated ability to lead technical workstreams, communicate effectively, and manage multiple assignments; ability to coach others and travel up to 30%.
