Job Summary

Maintain and install port and heavy industrial equipment at Red Dog, supporting safe operations for zinc concentrate production. Lead daily safety and environmental compliance, perform inspections, troubleshoot malfunctions, and carry out maintenance on conveyor systems, machinery, hydraulic components, and facility repairs (plumbing/carpentry). Operate required port equipment and ensure tools are kept in good condition while working in a two-weeks-on/two-weeks-off rotation.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as a safety leader by adhering to and sponsoring safety and environmental rules and procedures, including daily workplace inspections.
•Ensure compliance with policies and standard operating procedures and advise coworkers and visitors as required.
•Install, maintain, dismantle, and overhaul heavy mechanical equipment and conveyor systems.
•Perform routine and preventative maintenance, including lubrication, seal replacement, and troubleshooting irregularities and malfunctions.
•Operate port equipment as needed and complete facility repairs (e.g., plumbing and carpentry).

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED equivalent.
•10+ years as a Journeyperson Millwright in a heavy industrial setting maintaining pumps, conveyors, gear boxes, roll up doors, and baghouse maintenance.
•10+ years welding, alignments, heavy rigging, and fabrication, with strong building/facility repair ability (carpentry, flooring, plumbing, etc.).
•Good understanding of hydraulic components and ability to troubleshoot failures.
•Current valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
