Key Responsibilities

  • •Own and develop the FCC compliance framework for Japan, building on the global compliance framework.
  • •Manage departmental and individual targets for the FCC team.
  • •Run day-to-day AML regulatory interactions, examinations, and ad-hoc requests.
  • •Oversee an effective tactical/strategic anti-money laundering program, including EDD approvals and suspicious matter reporting as needed.
  • •Represent Airwallex with regulators and financial partners; develop monitoring/reporting processes and coordinate responses to audit and regulatory findings.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of financial crimes compliance experience (FCC) or AML in a financial institution.
  • •Fluency in managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • •Credible stakeholder engagement and management to align with organizational values.
  • •Japanese (native-level) and English (business-level) written and verbal communication skills.
  • •Experience knowledge in payment industry, and/or experience as MLRO or Deputy MLRO (preferred).
