Job Summary

Youth Fellow to support refugee and immigrant youth services, coordinate with schools and families, assist in case management, and help develop program activities within a Christian refugee services organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • •Work closely with the RIYS Team to develop Youth Services for refugee and immigrant youth in the Triangle, gaining experience as a young professional
  • •Coordinate with DPS staff, students and parents to identify needs and challenges for learners whose primary language limits access to services
  • •Support families through school registration and enrollment processes including application-filling, ESL testing setup, and school entry meetings
  • •Participate in RIYS activities such as mentorship meetings and youth tutoring (in-school and/or virtual)
  • •Facilitate interpretation for parent/teacher conferences and translate school forms to improve communication
