Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as project lead for the design, management, and delivery of traffic engineering projects.
  • •Develop concept-level to final design traffic control device plans for construction/advertisement.
  • •Perform traffic operations, safety, and capacity studies.
  • •Develop and apply Advanced Transportation Management Systems (ATMS) and Advanced Traffic Signal Controllers (ATC), including Concept of Operations.
  • •Support special provisions, RFP inputs, and cost estimate development.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • •7+ years of experience in a related engineering position.
  • •VA PE registration or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • •Experience with traffic control device design (signing, pavement markings, signals, lighting, maintenance of traffic) and ITS design.
  • •Hands-on experience with CADD software, including MicroStation and traffic engineering tools such as SignCAD, HCS, Synchro/Sim Traffic, VISSIM, and ArcGIS.
