Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide comprehensive victim advocacy services, including crisis intervention, emotional support, safety planning, and prevention/education under the Family Advocacy Program.
  • •Conduct non-clinical risk and lethality assessments, develop/implement safety and intervention plans, and coordinate referrals to appropriate services.
  • •Accompany victims (and non-offending caregivers) to medical, legal, law enforcement, and court appointments when requested, including assistance with protective orders and benefits.
  • •Liaise with the Installation Family Advocacy Program Manager and multidisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated services and training.
  • •Maintain ongoing case management with timely data entry and ensure contact requirements during and after crises, including warm handoffs to community resources when appropriate.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in counseling or related fields (social/work, psychology, marriage & family/child counseling, behavioral science, education, community health or public health).
  • •Two years’ experience working with victims of domestic abuse/sexual assault or victim advocacy services.
  • •Working knowledge of family violence dynamics, safety planning, risk assessments, and federal/state laws related to domestic abuse or sexual assault and victim rights.
  • •Ability to intervene in crisis using sound professional judgment and ethical practice, including independently assessing risk and developing safety/intervention plans.
  • •Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted motor vehicle license and provide on-call 24/7 victim advocacy services.
