Job Summary

Teach Design Technology (Food Technology) to support outstanding learning at Bateen World Academy. Plan lessons aligned to the school’s teaching and learning policy, set objectives and targets, and use assessment and performance data to differentiate for SEN, EAL, and G&T learners. Deliver instruction using ICT, maintain classroom discipline, mark and report progress, contribute to curriculum development, and support students through CAS and mentoring/extended essay supervision.

Job Function: Education & Training

Key Responsibilities

•Plan outstanding teaching and learning aligned to the school Teaching and Learning Policy, including clear objectives, targets, and structured lessons.
•Differentiate instruction for SEN (POD), EAL, and G&T students and use assessment for learning and performance data to improve outcomes.
•Use ICT to enhance learning and progress while maintaining discipline in line with the Behaviour for Learning Policy.
•Mark work at least once every two weeks, assess and record progress systematically, and prepare informative parent reports.
•Contribute to subject development, CPD, and CAS; act as an Academic Mentor and Extended Essay Supervisor for Year 12/13, support events, and assist with duties/cover and examinations as assigned.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in the related subject with PGCE or other teacher qualification.
•Very good/outstanding teaching record with experience teaching across ability ranges.
•Experience working in more than one international school.
•Experience teaching IB and I/GCSE, with knowledge of UAE Ministry of Education and ADEK regulations.
•Commitment to CPD and a clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check.
