Job Summary

Drive geospatial data sourcing and automation tooling for an AI/ML pipeline for new applications. Research and aggregate open/public and commercial sensor data for target regions (imagery, raster, vector, point clouds), then manage coverage, freshness, quality, and cost. Build and use automated tools to clean, transform, align, crop, resample, and postprocess outputs for internal teams, partnering closely with AI/ML, Pipeline, and Product groups.

Key Responsibilities

•Aggregate geospatial data for target regions and ensure complete, high-quality coverage.
•Research open, public-domain, and commercial sensor data sources to determine area coverage, quality, and freshness.
•Use open-source (e.g., GDAL) and internal tools to preprocess, align, crop, resample, reformat, and otherwise prepare data for use.
•Contribute to internal tools that process and source geospatial datasets.
•Partner with AI/ML, Pipeline, and Product teams to understand GIS data needs and provide diverse datasets for model development and regional rollouts.

Key Requirements

•Master’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
•4+ years of relevant industry experience in a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment.
•Experience with GIS data modalities and formats, including at least orthoimagery, point clouds (e.g., LiDAR), vector data (e.g., Shapefiles/GeoJSON/OSM), and raster elevation/terrain (DTM/DSM/DEM) plus landcover.
•Software engineering experience designing and architecting software, including Python experience for automation and/or contributing to existing tools.
•Working knowledge of open-source GIS libraries/tools such as PROJ and GDAL, and ability to work outside an ArcGIS-centric workflow.
