Key Responsibilities

  • •Draft, review, negotiate, and execute a wide range of clinical research agreements, including CTAs, MSAs, investigator agreements, site contracts, laboratory service agreements, clinical supply agreements, and patient/subject-related agreements.
  • •Act as the primary, day-to-day legal partner embedded alongside the Clinical Development team.
  • •Establish, scale, and optimize standardized clinical contracting playbooks and template libraries to streamline study start-up timelines.
  • •Identify, manage, and mitigate legal, regulatory, intellectual property, data privacy, and compliance risks across global clinical operations.
  • •Manage outside counsel and the legal budget for clinical transactions, and evaluate AI technologies to accelerate the clinical contracting lifecycle.

Key Requirements

  • •J.D. or equivalent law degree with active U.S. state bar admission in good standing (Massachusetts Bar or eligible for in-house registration in MA).
  • •Substantial experience structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex clinical trial agreements, MSAs, investigator agreements, site contracts, laboratory service agreements, clinical supply agreements, and patient/subject-related agreements.
  • •Experience in biotechnology/pharmaceutical in-house legal or in a specialised life sciences law firm practice.
  • •Expert knowledge of clinical trial execution, CRO outsourcing models, and regulatory guidelines (GCP/ICH).
  • •Familiarity with global, multi-jurisdictional clinical trial contracting across US, UK, and EU frameworks.
