Key Responsibilities

  • •Identify land ownership using company and public records, including maintaining current contact information.
  • •Research and analyze land title, identify defects, and outline curative actions based on title opinions and appraisals.
  • •Interpret property legal descriptions and locate properties using GIS data.
  • •Negotiate right-of-way acquisitions and related agreements to accommodate company facilities while minimizing litigation.
  • •Manage right-of-way obligations and renewals, including forecasting, documenting, coordinating surveys/appraisals, and resolving encroachments, damage claims, and landowner inquiries.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 2 years of experience handling land and right-of-way activities, including work in the pipeline industry supporting operational and sustaining capital projects and FERC regulated/non-regulated projects.
  • •Experience with federal agencies, tribes, and/or railroad entities in right-of-way matters.
  • •Knowledge of right-of-way fundamentals including acquisition, title, property legal descriptions, permitting, budgeting, cost forecasting, due diligence, and regulatory/legal issues.
  • •Demonstrated ability to read and interpret land contracts/documents, including payment terms, to develop renewal strategies and plans.
  • •Valid state driver’s license and satisfactory driving record, along with strong organizational skills and verbal/written communication.
