Job Summary

Regulatory affairs and compliance professional supporting Optasia's fintech operations in West Africa. Lead engagement with regulators, monitor and respond to regulatory changes, help build a governance framework, train staff, and partner with regional commercial teams to enable compliant go-to-market across WAEMU markets (Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Togo). Based in Abidjan with remote work flexibility.

Job Function: Quality & Regulatory (Non-Software)

Key Responsibilities

•Act as the first line of contact with regulators to manage the impact of new regulations, reporting obligations and prudential guidelines in the regional portfolio.
•Drive horizon scanning and early warning signals of regulatory changes and disseminate findings to impacted teams.
•Support the development and execution of the broader Regulatory Affairs & Compliance strategy within the regional portfolio.
•Monitor and ensure ongoing compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and assess regulatory risk exposure.
•Contribute to a robust regulatory governance framework, including training and awareness programs for staff and collaboration with other departments.

Key Requirements

•Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
•4-6 years of experience in a fintech environment, preferably in microfinance.
•Strong knowledge of regulatory and prudential guidelines within WAEMU markets.
•Ability to engage regulators and disseminate regulatory changes across teams.
•Excellent communication, negotiation, and training skills.
