Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist design work for small to large-scale highway projects, including roadway rehabilitation, safety improvements, and widening/reconstruction.
  • •Obtain and review existing information, including some field work and site investigations.
  • •Develop technical calculations and assist with roadway construction, intersection grading, and traffic control, signing, and pavement marking.
  • •Create 3D models using civil engineering software such as Bentley OpenRoads Designer or Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • •Assist in preparing technical reports and project specifications while working under supervision within budget and schedule.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • •Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam or ability to take it within the next 6 months.
  • •Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • •Some experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or civil engineering software such as Civil 3D or OpenRoads.
  • •Previous work experience or internship with engineering firms, contractors, or DOTs involved in highway/transportation design or construction.
