Job Summary

Build backend systems for the Ambassador Routing & Channels (ARC) team in Airbnb Community Support. You’ll lead programs for intelligent agent matching and personalized support experiences, evolve routing infrastructure with decision engines and workflow orchestration, and help consolidate fragmented routing logic into a centralized, auditable platform. Collaborate with Product, Operations, Data Science, and partners, deliver across the full lifecycle, and participate in on-call to ensure high availability at scale.

•Contribute to and lead engineering delivery for intelligent agent matching and personalized support experiences, including next-generation routing and channel capabilities.
•Own and evolve core routing infrastructure such as decision engines, workflow orchestration, and routing rule management for high availability and scalability.
•Consolidate fragmented routing logic across platforms and channels into a centralized, auditable, maintainable system.
•Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Data Science, and partner engineering teams to improve the customer support experience.
•Deliver full lifecycle work (design, implementation, testing, experimentation, production) and support reliability via on-call, incident response, and post-mortems.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 162,000 - 186,000

Key Requirements

•3+ years of software development experience in service-oriented architectures and backend development.
•Expertise in workflow optimization and scalable, flexible backend architecture.
•Experience designing and iterating on prompt engineering for AI/LLM-driven scenarios.
•Familiarity with RAG patterns, memory routing, and agent planning.
•Bachelor’s and/or Master’s/Ph.D. degree (preferably Computer Science) or equivalent practical experience.
