Job Summary

Strategic regional leader driving MongoDB’s startup and developer ecosystem engagement in the Bay Area. You’ll build partnerships with VCs, accelerators, founders and communities, design high-impact programs and events, lead a cross-functional team, and optimize initiatives to grow awareness, adoption, and affinity for MongoDB among startups and technical audiences.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as MongoDB representative within the Bay Area startup ecosystem, developing deep relationships with VCs, founders, operators, and ecosystem influencers.
•Drive high-value startup acquisition by designing and executing a targeted acquisition strategy to engage and convert high-potential startups in the region.
•Expand MongoDB’s physical presence in the Bay Area by leading an ecosystem strategy centered on founder programming, including VC-partnered events, demo days, hackathons, founder dinners, and flagship community events.
•Amplify MongoDB’s startup presence through digital channels by collaborating with Brand, Social, and Digital Marketing to extend regional initiatives across social media, earned content, and owned media.
•Own cross-functional alignment for the regional startup audience by embedding startup/developer audiences into marketing initiatives driven by Revenue Marketing, Strategic Events, DevRel, and other internal teams.

Key Requirements

•Have 8+ years of experience in marketing, community, ecosystem, or events roles focused on startups, developers, or technical founders.
•Have experience managing and developing high-performing teams, with the ability to set strategy while supporting strong on-the-ground execution.
•Possess deep familiarity with the Bay Area startup ecosystem, ideally with established relationships across VCs, founders, accelerators, and key founder communities.
•Have experience working in or closely with startups or venture capital firms, with a strong understanding of how early-stage companies operate and grow.
•Be comfortable engaging technical audiences, with enough understanding of startup engineering workflows to shape credible and compelling programming.
