Key Responsibilities

  • •Supervise a team on shift to deliver top-quality customer service, including planning rotas and ensuring store standards and presentation are maintained.
  • •Oversee merchandising and stock management: planograms, product rotation, replenishment orders, and accurate stocktake participation and recording.
  • •Manage deliveries by receiving, checking accuracy against notes, and storing goods correctly (ambient/chilled/frozen); monitor waste/shrinkage/damages and date-expired stock.
  • •Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, HACCP and COSHH, and manual handling requirements in a retail food environment.
  • •Open and close the supermarket following security and operational procedures; motivate staff to increase sales via upselling and recommendations.

Key Requirements

  • •Demonstrate sufficient literacy (evidenced by achieving Mathematics and English GCSE or equivalent) or relevant work experience.
  • •Proven experience working in a food and beverage environment, including ordering and compiling schedules for team members.
  • •Hold a Food Safety Level 2 or 3 certificate and a Personal License; NVQ Food Preparation/Service is desirable (full training will be provided).
  • •Knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act, HACCP, COSHH, and a relevant Manual Handling course.
  • •Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience resolving day-to-day problems.
