Job Summary

Lead daily operations in an automotive inspection center by supervising hourly production associates responsible for vehicle reconditioning. Manage safe movement of cars, hit production and quality targets, review and approve mechanical/physical defects, and train the team using quality control standards to minimize rework and delays. Partner with the Inspection Center General Manager on repairing or rejecting inventory based on cost and vehicle quality, while coaching performance and maintaining Carvana’s values.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage the movement of cars into and out of the inspection center safely while meeting production and quality goals.
•Oversee day-to-day activities, identify strengths/weaknesses, and drive improvements for the assigned team.
•Engage and lead the team through coaching, development, performance management, and clear communication of expectations and goals.
•Review and approve mechanical and physical defects of incoming inventory; partner with the General Manager to repair or reject inventory based on estimated repair cost and overall quality.
•Train production associates on quality control standards to complete repairs effectively the first time, minimizing re-checks, re-work, and production delays.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
•Experience using computers.
•Must be at least 18 years of age.
•Demonstrated functional expertise in one or more areas pertaining to Carvana’s reconditioning process, including understanding of current reconditioning processes and lean principles.
•Valid unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years; ability to lift up to 60 pounds and meet physical/environment requirements of shop work.
