Key Responsibilities

  • •Coordinate and monitor inbound ocean freight shipments from booking through to final delivery while meeting service levels and customer expectations.
  • •Prepare, review, and process shipment documentation including bills of lading, arrival notices, customs documentation, and delivery orders.
  • •Submit accurate and timely import declarations through HMRC Customs Declaration Service (CDS) to ensure compliance with UK import regulations.
  • •Track and monitor shipments, identifying and resolving delays, disruptions, or exceptions to minimise customer impact.
  • •Verify and process supplier invoices, resolve issues across documentation, customs clearance, billing, and transportation, and maintain updated shipment records.

Key Requirements

  • •GCSE Level 2 (Grade 4) or equivalent required.
  • •Minimum of 3 years’ experience within ocean freight import operations in a freight forwarding or logistics environment.
  • •Confidence liaising with customs brokers and managing shipments through the clearance process.
  • •Knowledge of UK customs import regulations and customs procedures.
  • •Experience handling both FCL and LCL shipments is preferred.
