Key Responsibilities

  • •Apply HSBC underwriting policies and principles to ensure sound, lasting, profitable business acceptance.
  • •Accept or authorize new business cases or policy changes within delegated authority limits on a sound and profitable portfolio basis.
  • •Monitor and update underwriting rules and guidelines to maintain market competitiveness and alignment with evolving medical and insurance risk standards.
  • •Streamline internal processes and procedures to optimize customer service delivery.
  • •Ensure compliance with established procedures, service standards, Group policies, and regulatory requirements using robust internal controls.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree qualification and professional qualification; LOMA, ALU, ALUCA or CII desirable.
  • •Solid life insurance experience with attained underwriting authority across Life, CI and Medical businesses in the High Net Worth field.
  • •Authority over a substantial financial sum insured.
  • •Experience managing complex or jumbo cases across Broker, Private Banking and Commercial banking, including liaison with reinsurers.
  • •Authority over complex medical health impairment (to the order of +150% extra mortality or morbidity to Decline) and cross-border risk assessment experience.
