Key Responsibilities

  • •Control material taken into the paver and the depths of material distributed through the screed/paving machine.
  • •Operate and control the screed on an asphalt paving machine.
  • •Maintain efficient working condition of the equipment by performing minor servicing and maintenance.
  • •Perform minor servicing/maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
  • •Apply knowledge of asphalt paving industry details (grades, drainage, paving patterns, specifications, compaction) to support correct paving execution.

Key Requirements

  • •Prior experience operating a screed on an asphalt paving machine is preferred.
  • •A thorough understanding of asphalt paving, including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, and compaction.
  • •Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • •Basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • •Prior experience with screed operation and Topcon 5 Electronics experience is preferred.
