Job Summary

Grade and sort incoming metal products based on appearance and quality to support correct processing and usage. Maintain a clean, safe yard by performing general cleanup, yard maintenance, and basic sorting of scrap and debris. Support operations at the shear/shredder, assist with repairs and maintenance as needed, and report equipment issues to supervisors while following Environmental and Health & Safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Grade and sort incoming metal products by appearance and quality to ensure correct processing and usage.
•Perform general yard cleanup and maintenance activities including digging, sweeping, weed/brush maintenance, and blacktop repair.
•Conduct basic sorting of scrap and metal/debris in preparation for processing.
•Carry out greasing and general cleanup at the shear and/or shredder.
•Assist with repairs and maintenance as required at the railroad and report equipment deficiencies or malfunctions to supervisors.
