Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as WSP’s primary on-site field representative for substation and transmission line construction activities.
  • •Perform and document engineering field observations for civil/structural works, structural steel erection, and major equipment installations against approved technical documentation and ITPs.
  • •Review Contractor look-ahead schedules and coordinate WSP attendance at designated Hold/Witness Points.
  • •Identify field conditions, deviations, or non-conformances requiring engineering assessment and promptly coordinate with the appropriate WSP discipline engineer/EOR.
  • •Maintain traceable field records (observation reports, photographs, Hold/Witness Point records, and outstanding engineering issues) and support closure of technical issues and Record Documentation.

Key Requirements

  • •Diploma or degree in Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • •Minimum 10–15 years of relevant construction experience with significant field experience on high-voltage substations and/or overhead transmission line projects.
  • •Strong field experience with substation earthworks and grading, reinforced concrete foundations, and transmission line foundations/caissons (including rebar/concrete, anchor bolts/embeds, duct banks/trenches, and structural steel erection).
  • •Demonstrated ability to read and interpret IFC civil, structural, and electrical drawings, technical specifications, vendor drawings, and construction details.
  • •Practical knowledge of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Hold Points, Witness Points, NCRs, RFIs, field change processes, and Contractor QA/QC documentation.
