Key Responsibilities

  • •Shape architecture and technology strategy across AMP modernization projects and workstreams with limited supervision.
  • •Lead assessment and modernization of legacy Java applications by uncovering dependencies, embedded business logic, and integration/operational constraints.
  • •Design, implement, and review production-quality solutions using Java and Spring Boot, including APIs, integrations, monolith decomposition, and relational-to-document data modeling for MongoDB.
  • •Establish safe, incremental delivery practices using acceptance criteria, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and rollback/dual-run risk-control strategies.
  • •Mentor engineers, raise engineering standards, and create reusable migration playbooks/documentation while applying GenAI advancements responsibly.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • •Typically 8+ years designing, building, and delivering Java applications, including leading complex application modernization initiatives.
  • •Expert-level knowledge of Java fundamentals, OOP, concurrency, error handling, performance, and maintainable software architecture.
  • •Deep production experience with Spring Boot for resilient services, APIs, integrations, and testable distributed applications.
  • •Experience assessing legacy estates and performing relational database/SQL modernization, including stored procedures, data dependencies, schema evolution, and relational-to-document modeling for MongoDB (or similar).
