  • •Conduct on-site hands-on protective relay testing and calibration using Omicron and Doble relay test sets.
  • •Document site activities using field forms, digital data tools, and mobile applications, maintaining logs, photos, and label entries with attention to detail.
  • •Support project leads or field supervisors, escalate complex technical problems or unexpected field conditions, and communicate progress and delays to the team.
  • •Participate in safety briefings and ensure compliance with health and safety protocols; assist with quality guidance for less experienced technicians as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent.
  • •7+ years of experience in electrical testing, including medium/high voltage circuit breakers, power transformers, instrument transformers, and substation protection/controls testing.
  • •Expertise on transmission, generation, and distribution relays and protective schemes, including relay calibration with Omicron CMC 256/356 and Doble F6150 test sets.
  • •Experience with electrical field testing standards and procedures (e.g., NETA, IEEE, NFPA) and with projects from 15 kV to 500 kV.
  • •Experience using testing software (ProTesT, Protection Suite, ENOSERV RTS, Omicron Test Universe, AcSELerator Quickset) and reading electrical drawings.
